“Well…I suppose.” God has decided to take me home. ~ Irene Schwindt
Irene was born June 14, 1948, in Dickinson to Ernest and Emma (Rambousek) Pavlicek. Raised in New Hradec until she was 14 years old, Irene’s family then moved to Dickinson where she graduated from Dickinson High School in 1966. She received training as a certified nurse’s aid at St. Joseph Hospital. She went on to enjoy a 61-year career as a CNA at Mandan Villa and Prospera Communities. On September 9, 1968, Irene married Dale Schwindt at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dickinson. They made their home in Dickinson for several years before moving to Mandan where they shared their life and raised four sons.
Irene loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, and also her dog, Scooter. She enjoyed going to the casino and yard sales, doing word searches, and listening to polka music. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Irene was a kind and generous woman who dedicated her life to caring for others.
The family wishes to thank Sanford’s 7 th floor doctors, nurses, and CNAs for their wonderful care and all their help.
Blessed to have shared in her life is her husband of 53 years, Dale Schwindt, Mandan; four sons, Brian, Robert, Brad (Jessie), and Blaine (Kayla) Schwindt, all of Mandan; eight grandchildren, Tanner, Conner, Reese, Ryder, Rachelle, Nathan, Madison, and Michael; and one great grandchild, Aleina.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard, David, and Dennis Pavlicek; and two infant brothers.
