Wayne A. Lang, 65, of Mandan, ND passed away October 22, 2024 at St. Vincent’s Care Center in Bismarck. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at St. Pius Cemetery in New Salem, ND.
Wayne Alan was born September 21, 1959 in Jamestown, ND to Raymond & Jean (Fletcher) Lang. He attended school in Judson and New Salem, ND where he graduated from high school. Wayne then worked in the oil fields and traveled to various jobs. While working in Wyoming, he got to know his godchild, Michelle. Wayne later worked for H.A. Thompson & Sons in Bismarck and the Cenex station in New Salem. He enjoyed hobby farming and loved animals and exotic birds. Wayne was often found walking the prairie looking for arrowheads and diamond willow sticks, which he would finish and often give away to family and friends. He loved to attend auction sales and enjoyed collecting antique fishing poles and lures, or whatever caught his attention!
Due to health issues and an ailing back, Wayne ended up wheel chair bound. He had many friends who would stop by to visit for whom he was grateful. His most recent time was spent working on his diamond willows and wood carving.
Wayne and his roommate Kirsten often volunteered at the Aid Store in Mandan where he enjoyed talking with and entertaining customers.
He will be missed by his friends and family which include Bill Schneider, whom Wayne considered his adopted son. His mother, Jean Fleck of Bismarck; two brothers, Raymond Lang of Judson, ND & Anthony Lang of Shepherd, MT; one sister, Lorraine (Ray) Sorge of Beulah, ND; step-siblings,Paula McCarthy, Karla Fleck, Mike Fleck; apartment mate, Kjerstine Hauge, and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father (Raymond), sister (Lisa Kay Lang), step-father (Ronald Fleck), & step-sister (Lynn Fleck), and his grandparents.
