Virginia Schwartz, 90, Fargo, formerly of Mandan died May 31, 2014 at Bethany Homes, Fargo, ND.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Jack Carlson officiating. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00 pm on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Virginia was born on March 16, 1924 to William and Katherine (Schleinning) Pulkrabek in Mandan, ND. She was born and raised in Mandan, graduating from Mandan High School in 1942. She married George Schwartz on April 22, 1950. Virginia was a warm hearted person that loved everybody. Her hospitality and outgoing personality made her home a fun and loving place to be. She loved to garden and bake. Her gingersnap cookies were everybody’s favorite! Virginia enjoyed rodeos, traveling and listening to old time music. She particularly enjoyed the television show “Polka Spot Light” and NASCAR racing. Virginia enjoyed camping, fishing in Minnesota and quilting.
Virginia will be deeply missed by husband, George, Fargo, ND; sister, Violet (Ed) Ressler, Mandan, ND; sister-in-law, Regina Pulkrabek and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Donald (Arlene) and Ronald Pulkrabek.
