Valentine Schlosser

Valentine Schlosser, 98, of Mandan, passed away July 8, 2021, at Lakewood Landing, Mandan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, July 12, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, ND with Rev. Josh Waltz as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 11, 2021, from 5:00-6:40 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:40 PM and Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM.

Val was born on November 29, 1922, to Peter and Isabella (Steiner) in Mandan, ND.

He married Doreen Schaff on September 19, 1949, in Fallon, ND.

After they were married, they farmed in the Crown Butte area until they moved to Mandan in 2003.

We lost a hero today; he was our father. He was nothing but good. He was Joy, Peace, Love, Hope, Humility, Kindness, Empathy, and Truth.

Dad, you will be deeply missed by daughters, Joyce (Steve) Howry, Judy Burns, Darcy (Dan) Hurley; sons, Darell (Elaine), Marvin (Jodi), Ernie (Pam), Terry, Harvey (Nancy), Bernie (Susan); 26 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Alice (Warren) Williams, Marie Ferderer.

Val was preceded in death by his wife, Doreen; sons, Valentine Jr., Rodney, Tim, and Scott; son-in-law, Ronald Burns; grandson, RJ Burns; his parents; sisters, Anna, Perpetua, Isabel, and Katherine; brothers, Jack, Tony, Henry, and Peter.
