Timothy "Tim" Hill, 77, Mandan, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at Sanford Health in Bismarck. Per Tim's wishes no formal funeral service will be held and cremation has taken place.
Tim was born November 2, 1948, in Elkhart, Indiana to William and Betty (Bickart) Hill. He was a high school football player and excelled in shot putt. He graduated from Western Michigan College where he majored in agriculture.
Between assignments when he served in the Peace Corps (in Kenya in the 70’s and Micronesia in the 90’s), he owned and operated The Country Shack in Mandan, ND. The Country Shack offered seasonal items such as bedding plants, flowers, pumpkins, and firewood. Inside the store was a variety of smaller items.
Tim enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening and spending time at the river with his friends. He also had a love for animals, and many will fondly remember Sparky. Tim spent much of his retirement in Timber Lake, SD. He was a gentle giant, loved by all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his sister, Sioux Hill Ayrea and her children William, Dylan, and Camille, all of Indiana. He is also survived by two close friends, Travis Stramer and Marge Ellefson.
Special thanks to Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, and special appreciation to Sanford ICU for the kind and loving care.
