Timothy Sitter

April 16, 1953 — January 23, 2025

Mandan

Timothy Sitter, 71, Mandan, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan with Fr. Keith Streifel presiding. Burial will follow at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, January 27 from 4-6 PM with a Rosary/Parish Vigil beginning at 6 PM at Weigel Funeral Home in Mandan.

Tim was born on April 16th, 1953 to Sebastian and Marjorie (Smith) Sitter in Dickinson, ND. He was raised on a farm in Werner, ND. As a teen he moved to Halliday, ND where he graduated high school in 1971. After graduation, Tim worked at a gas station and on a farm before being hired to work for Bobcat for 35 years. On April 7th, 1988 Tim married the love of his life, Regina (Senger) Sitter. In September of 1989 they had their son, Daniel. Before retiring, Tim worked for seven years as an administrator and manager of the Mandan Moose Lodge where he spent his time conversing and laughing with everyone he befriended.

Tim was known for his boisterous laugh and strong opinions. He enjoyed a good, loud argument on topics he was passionate about, and some he wasn’t. As a young man, Tim loved camping and spending time outdoors. He and Regina, better known as Gina, loved camping at Sweet Briar lake. Later, when Danny was born, they took their love of camping all across the country. Tim had a love of everything that went fast, and spent hours watching racing, specifically Nascar. He developed a love of motorcycles and riding that he eventually shared with his son. They also shared a love of Western movies. Quigley Down Under was a family favorite and if it had John Wayne in it, they could recite it to you word for word. Tim was an avid collector of firearms and enjoyed target practice with his family. In recent years, Tim’s favorite activity was spending all his time playing with and spoiling his granddaughter. He loved his family, blood related or not. He is deeply loved and will be missed by many.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents Sebastian and Marjorie, sister LaVerne, brother Donald, and sister-in-law Virginia.

He leaves behind his loving wife Regina, his son Daniel, daughter-in-law Maria, his two grandchildren Davina, and soon-to-be Sitter, brother Dennis, brother-in-law Benno, and sister-in-law Carol.
