Thomas Schirado, 77, Glen Ullin, died May 19, 2015 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin, ND with Rev. Jeff Zwack as celebrant. Inurnment will be at St. Clements Cemetery rural Hebron on Tuesday May 26, 2015 at 10:00 am.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 22, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Glen Ullin with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Tom was born on February 10, 1938 to Anton and Katie (Rausch) Schirado in rural Glen Ullin, ND. He was raised and educated in Glen Ullin. Tom married Kathleen Ann Kastner on February 11, 1961 in Bismarck. They made their home in Glen Ullin where Tom worked for the City of Glen Ullin for 35 years. He was known for his ability to fix anything mechanical like old tractors, trucks and wagons, he enjoyed taking them apart and then rebuilding them. He enjoyed his hobby farm and raising animals. He also enjoyed attending area auction sales where he would find the old tractors and trucks to rebuild. Tom was a member of the Glen Ullin Sacred Heart Church and was an active member of his community.
Tom will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathleen, Glen Ullin; daughters, Lisa (Mike) Daoust, Bloomington, MN and Laurie (Scott) Charette, Grand Forks; sons, Bill, Plymouth, MN and David (Carrie), Glen Ullin; 5 grandchildren, Olivia and Autumn Charette, Derrick (Kristen) Duppong, Lindsey Schirado and Thomas W. Schirado; sisters, Pearl Voegele, Mandan, Lena (Kent) Sorenson, Camano Island, WA, and Geneva (Al) Karlin, Cool, Ca and Lee Walters; brother, Mike (Geraldine) Schirado, Glen Ullin sisters-in-law, Lorraine Schirado, Bismarck and Allison Schirado, Mandan, and brother-in-law, Lee Walters, VA. along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Katherine (Martin) Hoerner and Joan Walters; brothers, Harry (Hollis), Richard (Josephine), Tony and Lester and brother-in-law, Otto Voegele
