Tom Fristad, 67, of Mandan, ND died on October 30, 2024, at home at his beloved Fristad Family Farm, northwest of Mandan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Christ the King Church in Mandan. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Rite of Committal will be 9:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 12, in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Thomas Raymond Fristad was born in Bismarck, ND on May 9, 1957, to Gus and Helen (Minette) Fristad. He grew up in Mandan, ND, the third of four children. Tom graduated from Mandan Senior High School in 1975 and from Wahpeton State School of Science (Auto Body Repair) in 1977.
Tom was an artist at heart, producing some beautifully finished cars and trucks. He was proud to work on Porsches, Mercedes, Corvettes, Mustangs, and Camaros, to name a few, and was happy to share his knowledge of car repair with others. Tom came in first as an amateur driver in a stock car race, an accomplishment he relished.
Tom is survived by his life partner, Lorraine Doll, his brother, Bill (Deb) Fristad of Hudson, WI, sister-in-law Sue Fristad, of Grand Forks, ND, and sister, Mary (Joe Fiala) Fristad, of Worthington, Ohio, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and his dear dog, Tipper. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Fristad.
