Theodore "Ted" Zander, 81, Mandan, passed away April 8, 2017 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Nick Schneider as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Men of the Moose Ritual at 6:30 pm and Knights of Columbus Rosary at 7:00 pm, following a Parish Vigil at 7:15 pm.
Ted was born June 30, 1935 to Liberatus and Margaret (Steckler) Zander in Mandan, ND. He was raised and educated in Mandan. He worked at Super Crete from 1959-1964, then started working in the concrete industry in 1965 until retiring in 1998.
Ted was a long-standing member of the Mandan Moose, Eagles, and Knights of Columbus. You could always find Ted on the dance floor especially dancing to his favorite old time music. Ted served as an usher at Christ the King Catholic Church, volunteered his time to the Golden Age and Eagles, and also served with meals on wheels. This man will be dearly missed and will always be remembered for his loving devotion to family, friends, and community.
Ted will be deeply missed by his brother, James, Bismarck, ND; sister-in-law, Beatrice Zander, Mandan, ND; sisters, Monica Yantzer, Bismarck, ND, Helen Doll, New Salem, ND, Mary Knoll, Bismarck, ND and Kathleen (John) Brilz, San Pablo, CA along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Liberatus and Margaret; brothers, Richard and Liberatus (Lib); sister-in-law, Mary; brothers-in-law, Tony Yantzer, Joe Doll and Mike Knoll; several nieces and nephews; Edward Yantzer, Joelene Pagl, Doreen Kuhn and Lauralee Williams.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan Golden Age or the donor's choice.
