Terrance Helbling, 87, of Bismarck, passed away October 21, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius, Bismarck, ND.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, Bismarck, ND with Msgr. Jim Braaten as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 5:00-6:45 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Moose Ritual beginning at 6:45 and Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Terrance was born on November 28, 1933 to Christ and Rose Helbling in St. Anthony, ND. He was an active member of the community and was a dedicated member to the Mandan Moose Lodge, Mandan Eagles, and Knights of Columbus. Terrance met the love of his life, Frances (Schaaf) Helbling, and they were married on October 19, 1953.
After Terrance left the farm, he worked in sales for most of his life. He went on to work at Firestone, Sears, and Norby Rath. His last job was at Corral Sales where he worked for 18 years.
Family meant everything to Terrance. He was always extremely proud of them. He and his family always did everything together such as fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and playing cards. He loved to entertain and always wanted everyone to eat, drink, and be happy. He loved to talk to people. He was very friendly and was loved and respected by many.
Terrance is survived by his wife, Frances Helbling of Bismarck; children, Diane Helbling and Dale (Sherry) Helbling of Bismarck and Duane (LaRae) Helbling, Dennis (Anne) Helbling, and David (Marlene) Helbling of Mandan; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Christ and Rose Helbling; sister, Magdeline Pacana; and brothers, Ray Helbling and Joe Helbling.
