Taylor Goven, 21, Mandan, died June 27, 2015 in Mandan, ND.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Lee Herberg officiating. Inurnment will be at the Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Taylor was born on July 2, 1993 to Cynthia Goven and Miles Mehlhoff in Bismarck, ND. She was raised and educated in Bismarck and graduated from Century High School in 2011 and from Bismarck State College in 2013. Taylor was currently attending the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, pursuing a Civil Engineering degree. She was an active and talented girl who loved life and her family and friends. Taylor was very active in The Bismarck Figure Skating Club and was a member of Team North Dakota Synchronized Skating Team, competing in events throughout the United States. Taylor gave her time and talent to young skaters by coaching and mentoring them. Taylor enjoyed traveling and going to Iceland was a high point in her short life. Taylor worked for Papa Murphy’s, Ulteig Engineers and her father’s engineering firm, Sambatek.
Above all Taylor’s family was central in her life; she enjoyed spending holidays and special events with them. She especially enjoyed Easter, her mother, Cindy, would send special Easter baskets to Taylor when she was at school. She was a caring and loving person whose spirit and smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Taylor will be deeply missed by her parents, Cindy and Lee Zander and Miles and Jessica Mehlhoff ; grandparents, Ardell Mehlhoff, Mandan and Nick Goven, Turtle Lake; sisters, Lindsey James, Mandan, Sydnee Minkler, Washington, Abby Zander, Hayden Mehlhoff and Parker Mehlhoff all of Mandan; brothers, Mason Zander and Maxsen Mehlhoff both of Mandan; boyfriend, Brandon Sutleif; aunts and uncles, Michelle (special friend, Mike Elstad), Bismarck, Shawn (Janell) Mehlhoff, Alexandria , Mn and Hannah Goven, Mandan.
Taylor was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raelynn Rutter and Mylo Mehlhoff.
