Shirley A. Ulrich, 74, Mandan, died peacefully August 30, 2015 surrounded by her family.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND with Reverend Christina Martin officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 pm at Fairhill Cemetery, Flasher, ND.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm with Pastor Gary Heaton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Shirley was born on June 16, 1941 to Helmer and Dorothy (Tschider) Lundstrom in Mandan, ND. She was raised and educated in the Flasher area, graduating from Flasher High School in 1961. She married Donald Ulrich in 1965 and made their home in Elgin and later in Mandan. She worked as a sales clerk and manager at Aid Inc. Thrift Shop, formerly known as Brighten’s Thrift Store, in Mandan for almost 30 years. She loved her job and was well suited for it because of her kind and giving nature. She was always happy and upbeat, never complaining about anything. Shirley had a humble and gentle personality that drew many people to her. Above all, her three boys were the center of her life.
Shirley enjoyed collecting recipes and listening to country western and polka music.
Shirley will be deeply missed by her special friend, Orville Murray, Mandan, ND; sons, Dion (Karen), Mandan, ND, Corey (Tonya), Bismarck, ND and Troy, Mandan, ND; four grandchildren, Madisen, Morgan, McKenzie and Ryan Ulrich; brothers, John (Julie) Lundstrom and James Lundstrom all of Mandan, ND, and special nieces and nephews, Stacy (Tim) Olson, Wendy (Rob) Graff, Kaitlyn Lundstrom and Tyler Lundstrom.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beverly Lundstrom.
