Robert Slavick

August 24, 1932 — June 7, 2016

Robert E. Slavick, 83, New Salem, ND passed away June 7, 2016 in rural Judson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 17, 2016 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Flasher, ND with Rev. Dennis Schafer as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Robert was born on August 24, 1932 to William and Lousie (Katzke) Slavick, Sr. in Morton County. He graduated from Mandan High School in 1950. Robert married Jacquelyn Jochim on October 6, 1959 in Flasher, ND. Robert was a proud farmer and rancher. He had strong family pride along with his son and grandson he was the 3rd of 5 generations to operate their Centennial Farm which has been in operation for 126 years. Robert had a strong work ethic and he always said “When you do something, do it right” and that was a motto he lived and worked by. He was also active in his Church in his younger years he was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Pius Catholic Church in New Salem, he was a 75 year member of the Bohemian Lodge of rural Judson, and was recognize for his 50 + year association with the Polled Hereford Association. His love for his Lord, his family and the land was always central in Robert’s life and he will always be greatly loved and missed.

Robert will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Jacquelyn, New Salem, ND; son, Robert J. (Kathleen) Slavick, Mandan, ND; daughters, Ann (Jim) Fieser, Columbia, MO and Elizabeth Slavick, Medford, OR; 10 grandchildren, Robert D., Kaitlyn and Kathryn Slavick, Tom, Sam and Joan Fieser, Emily, Timothy, Teresa and Michaela Schatz; nephew, Neal Slavick and niece, Ginger Snare and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Alex and Angie Schafer, John and Kathleen Jochim, Alouise Michlitsch and their children.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Slavick, Jr.
