A viewing will be held from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at St. Martin Church, with a 7:00 PM Holy Rosary and Vigil Service.
Bob was born on June 9, 1940, in Mandan, ND to Jack and Magdyln Hatzenbihler. He attended school at Center High School in 1958. He went on to attend college at State Science College in Wahpeton, ND, graduating with a degree in sheet metal work.
In 1962, he married his loving wife, Olivia Reeck, and they moved back to Mandan. It wasn’t until 1973 that they decided to return to farming. Bob found a great farmland that he wanted to settle down and raise his family on. For the past 44 years, Bob and Olivia have been farming and taking care of each other and their kids.
Bob loved farming, walking out of his front door, and just looking across the land. As Bob got older, he found camping and fishing was what he loved doing when he wasn’t working the fields. Bob could sit in his fishing boat for hours; you had to almost drag him off the water. He loved his family and friends and loved sharing stories. He could talk for hours about everything under the sun. Bob was a big strong man with hands of steel but had a soft heart and was always willing to help anyone out.
Bob will be missed by his loving wife, Olivia; their children, Geraldine (Abayomi), Carol, Lois (Martin), and Brenda (Ken); brother, Gerald (Sherry); sister, Jane (Wayne); along with nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
He will be welcomed to Heaven by his parents; father and mother-in-law; sister-in-law Lynette; as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins. May he rest in peace.
