Raymond (Ray) Hoffman, 83, Mandan, died May 13, 2016 at CHI-St. Alexius Health in Bismarck following complications of an aneurysm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Mandan VFW Post #707 and American Legion Post #40.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 3:00-9:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Moose Ritual at 6:30 pm, St. Anthony Verein Rosary at 7:00 pm followed by a Parish Vigil at 7:15 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
Ray was born on August 21, 1932 to Joe and Clementine (Stein) Hoffman in Mandan, ND. He was raised and educated in the Mandan area. Ray married Janet Fitterer on June 21, 1961 in Mandan and proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. Ray worked for the City of Mandan and later worked for Century 21 as a real estate agent. He was a member of the American Legion, Mandan Moose, Eagles, and St. Anthony Verein.
Ray will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Jan, Mandan, ND; daughter Jodi (John) Meyer, West Fargo, ND; son, Jeff (Tammy), Ruston, LA and Jim, West Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, Katelyn, Kassidy, Luke, and Levi Hoffman, Danielle, Andrea and Ryan Meyer and brother, Rusty Hoffman, St. Anthony, ND.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Bernice Beltz and Luella Fisher.
