Quinten Hausauer, 49, Mandan, died in the embrace of his wife and children on April 17, 2014 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 2-9 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Quinten was born on February 21, 1965 to Edward and Donna Hausauer in Lemmon, SD. His family moved to Mandan in 1980. He attended Mandan High School and Job Corp. He married Annette Hatzenbuhler on September 23, 1988 in Mandan. He called her "Sweets" and always said, "You're the love of my life."
Quinten was a proud Teamster and worked hard every day to improve the lives of working people. He began his Teamster career while employed with UPS where he served as a union steward before becoming a business agent and recording secretary with Teamsters Local 123/638. Prior to his Teamster career, Quinten worked in the human service field for HIT, Enable, and Charles Hall.
Quinten loved his family very much, especially his "sweetpea" Oliver. Quinten was a strong willed, practical man with common sense, often reminding his family not to "sweat the small stuff." He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, one-liners, and ability to make people laugh by telling a good joke. Quinten was a Denver Broncos fan and enjoyed watching news and politics. He also enjoyed weekly pinochle games with his family. "Hey Spanky, pick up your cards."
Quinten will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Annette, Mandan; daughter, Jessica (fiancé, David Johnson) Hausauer, Minnesota; son, Matthew Hausauer, Mandan; grandson, Oliver Johnson, Minnesota; sisters, Connie Liebelt, Iowa, Roxann (Tim) Sauter, South Dakota, and Carla (Tim) Goldade, South Dakota; brothers, Scott (Shawnda) Hausauer, Lincoln, and Richard (Bev) Hausauer, South Dakota; sister-in-law, Oksoon Steinbach, Washington; a very special aunt, Ella Mae Hausauer, South Dakota; his father and mother-in-law Matt and Ann Hatzenbuhler, Mandan; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Casey.
Quinten was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim Steinback, Bill Hausauer and 2 infant brothers.
