Philip C. Schaf, 60, Solen, ND died November 28, 2015 at his residence in Solen.
Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND with Msgr. James Braaten presiding. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Philip was born on June 24, 1955 to Adam A. and Eileen (Gilbertson) Schaf in Bismarck, ND. He was raised and educated in the Ft. Yates and Solen areas graduating from Ft. Yates High School and then continuing his educating in Drafting in Denver, CO.
Philip went on to be a draftsman in Thorton, CO for 18 years. He then moved to Solen, ND where he has ranched for the last 20 years.
Philip enjoyed the outdoors and took advantage of living in the Colorado by hiking, fishing, skiing, hunting and back-packing in the mountains with his friends. He was a Denver Bronco fan and was an avid bowler. Above all his family and friends were very important to him and he to them.
Philip will be deeply missed by his son, Matthew A. Brown-Schaf, Parker, CO; mother, Eileen Schaf, Bismarck, ND; sisters, Carol Rosinski, Bismarck, ND, Jane (Bob) Heida, Newport, OR and Nancy (Dale) Leingang, Solen, ND; brothers, Jerry (Jackie) Schaf, South Haven, MN, David (Mary) Schaf, Zeeland, MI, Jim (Carmen) Schaf, Hettinger, ND, Daniel (Tammy) Schaf, Casselton, ND and Robert (Jeanette) Schaf, Center, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by his father, Adam Schaf; grandparents, Philip (Frances) Schaf and Clarence (Carrie) Gilbertson and brother, Glenn Schaf.
