Pauline Zeiszler

August 13, 1920 — October 20, 2015

Pauline Zeiszler, 95, Glen Ullin, ND formerly of Mandan, went to meet her Lord October 20, 2015 at Marion Manor Health Care Center in Glen Ullin, ND.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Pauline was born on August 13, 1920 to Joseph and Margaret (Martin) Hatzenbuhler in Solen, ND. She was raised on a farm near Odense, ND and there she learned as a young girl about hard work. Pauline would milk cows, cook and do laundry. When she started school she did not speak English, she learned along with other children in school and her favorite class was reading. Pauline moved to Mandan when she was 23 and worked at the Mandan Creamery until her marriage to Reuben J. Zeiszler on April 29, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan. They were married for 34 years, made their home and raised their family in Mandan. She cherished her family and as a young family she sewed all their clothing. She was active in St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a longtime member of the St. Joseph Circle. Pauline was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Pauline was a talented seamstress and a token of her love were handmade baptismal gowns and also enjoyed crocheting and embroidery.

Pauline will be deeply missed by her daughter, Cheryl (David) Wanner, Hebron, ND; sons, Ronald (fiancée, Gloria), Mandan, ND; Eugene (Laurie), Stafford, VA, David (Bonnie), Bismarck, ND, Donald (Brenda), Inver Grove Heights, MN and Gerald (Lynnette), Malmo, NE; sisters, Celestine “Sally” Dworshak, Billings, MT and Margaret “Marge” (Gerald) Schempp, Bismarck, ND; 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reuben in 1980; son, Thomas and an infant son; daughter-in-law, Charlene Zeiszler; sisters, Catherine “Kay” ( Ted) Dworshak and Rosemary “Rose” (Mike) Kuntz; brother, Joseph (Clara) Hatzenbuhler and brother-in-law, Lawrence Dworshak.
