Michael "Mike" Knoll

Michael “Mike” Knoll, 95, of Mandan, passed away August 26, 2019 in a Bismarck Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Fred Harvey as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Mike Knoll was born on July 31, 1924 to Henry and Anna (Wetsch) Knoll in St. Anthony, ND.

On October 1, 1946, he married the love of his life, Helen L. Charvat.

As a teenager, Mike left the farm to go work with his brother Tony, as a distributor for a short while.  Then he was hired on with the Northern Pacific Railroad until his retirement.

Mike loved to fish, go dancing, listen to Polka music, and watching baseball.  He always enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mike will be deeply missed by his wife of 73 years, Helen; daughter, Claudie (Rick) Aberle; sons, James (Sue) and Jeffrey; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and sister, Theresa Leingang.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna; and nine siblings.
