Mary Werner, 72, Mandan, died May 20, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck with her husband by her side.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Ed Wehner as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 26, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 5:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Mary was born on April 22, 1942 to Joseph and Gertrude (Gustin) Pfau in Flasher, ND. She was raised and educated in the Flasher area and graduated from Flasher High School. Mary married Harlan Werner on June 22, 1963 in Flasher. They lived on the Werner Farm and Ranch south of Carson, ND until they moved to Mandan.
Mary’s family was central in her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an active vital person who enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, crafts and was an excellent cook and baker.
Mary will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Harlan; daughter, Mary Jane (Lynn) Davis, Wheatherford, TX; son, John (Violet) Werner, Mandan, ND; grandchildren, Christa and Stefanie Davis and step-granddaughter, Veronica Hoffert; great-grandchildren, Devon and Lucas; son-in-law, Tom Ediger, Selfridge, ND; sisters, Bernice Geiger, Bismarck, ND and Judy Howard, Portland, OR,; brothers, Jim (Christine) Pfau, Portland, OR and Richard (JoAnn) Pfau, Scapoose, OR; sister-in-law, Carol Pfau, Portland, OR; brothers-in-law, Marvin (Pat) Werner, Manhattan, KS and Don Hoffman, Bismarck, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by daughter, Rose Edinger; her parents, sisters, Mildred and Josephine; brother, Leonard and brothers-in-law, Leo and Eugene.
