Martin Blasy

Martin G. Blasy, 87, Mandan, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2018, at the Baptist Health Care Center
in Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. at Church
of St. Joseph in Mandan, with Rev. Shane Campbell officiating. Burial well be held at Mandan Union
Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at Weigel Funeral
Home, with a Rosary Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service.

Martin was born in New England, ND on August 2, 1930, to Joseph and Magdaline (Stagl) Blasy. He grew
up in New England and graduated from St. Mary’s School in New England.

Martin married Betty Feiler on September 17, 1951. They farmed near New England until 1960 when they
moved their family to Rapid City, SD. Martin attended business college there. He worked at Kluthe and
Lane Insurance.

Martin and Betty moved to Mandan, ND in 1978. Martin worked for Braun and Schaff; Rain and Hail; then
owned his own tax business until he retired. His wife, Betty, passed away on January 1, 1991.

Martin married Gloria Barnhardt on December 4, 1993. They enjoyed traveling in the early years of
their marriage and have many treasured memories. Martin was a Fourth Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus in Rapid City, SD and Mandan.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Kuntz); children from his first wife Betty, Brian of Rapid City, SD,
Bruce of Westminster, CO, Curt (Pame) of Sioux Falls, SD, Denise of Bismarck, ND, Audrey
(Gordon) of Deadwood, SD, and Todd of Bismarck, ND; sisters, Mary (Dan) Dinneen, Mandan, ND,
Eileen Blasy, Fort Collins, CO, and Julie (Jake) Ehli, Bismarck, ND; 9 grandchildren, and 11 great
grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Betty, his parents, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.
