Bismarck

Mark Stein, 63, of Bismarck, formerly of New Salem, died in his home on September 24, 2024.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, September 30th, 2024, at the Church of Corpus Christi in Bismarck with Fr. John Paul Gardner as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Mandan Union Cemetery.

The son of Daniel & Mary Stein was born on May 19, 1961. He graduated from New Salem High School and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends (especially Kurt Kuntz), causing ruckus whenever he could. During his working life, he worked mostly labor jobs that included the oil field and working for Westcon. He ended his career owning his own business doing handyman jobs which he absolutely loved. Mark loved searching for and collecting artifacts, setting up rooms full of train sets with towns, building ships, and collecting model cars. Once he became homebound, he was a big fan of informational YouTube videos. He never married but had a life love that wasn't meant to be, with Denise (Conitz) Rieniets. He would've been a good father as he loved kids.

He is survived by his mother Mary Stein of Mandan; siblings, Bonnie (Perry) Schlosser of Mandan, Karen (Sherrie) Stein of Port Angeles, WA, Al (Carol) Stein of Bismarck, Tim (Terrie) Stein of Cleveland TN, Jon Stein of E. Wenatchee, WA, and last, but not least, Jody (Paul) Guodace of Bismarck; many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, & a few great grand nieces & nephews; along with many cousins & friends who will miss his quiet soul and humor.

He was preceded in death by his father (Daniel Stein), brother (Robert Stein), grandparents (John & Margaret Stein and George & Rose Kautzman), and his best friend Kurt.
