Margaret was born June 23, 1931 in Crown Butte, ND to Ernest and Regina (Wetsch) Barnhard. The family then moved to St. Anthony where Margaret attended St. Anthony Catholic School. On January 25, 1954 she married John J. Kuntz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Solen. In 1954 they moved to Mandan where she has lived until her death.
Besides being a homemaker for a family of eight, she worked at Missouri Slope Sales Ring Café in Bismarck, Pink Panther Cleaners in Mandan and the Northern Pacific Lunchroom. She did office work for her husband’s business, Johnnie’s Plumbing & Heating until he closed the shop. Margaret enjoyed cooking German foods for her children, grandchildren and many friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning her garden vegetables, sewing and crocheting. She also had a Green Thumb in the garden. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping with her family, playing bingo and going to Prairie Knights Casino. More than anything, Margaret was a caring mother, always worried about others before herself. Her nightly phone calls to her children will be dearly missed.
