Marcille Rohrich

May 8, 1948 — December 12, 2023

Marcille Fern Rohrich, 75, left this world peacefully to be with her heavenly father on December 12, 2023, surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 18, 2023, at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Bismarck, ND, with Rev. Jared Johnson as celebrant. Burial will follow at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.   Lunch will follow burial at the Amvets Club, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00-3:30 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Parish Vigil at 3:30 pm.   Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Marcille was the 4th daughter born to Art J and Emma (Schumacher) Werre at Bismarck Hospital on May 8, 1948.  She grew up on the family farm near Tappen, ND, and attended school in Napoleon, ND, graduating from Napoleon High School in 1965.  She later attended and graduated from Capital Commercial Business College.

Marcille married Gerald Rohrich on December 2, 1967, and they enjoyed 48 years together before his passing in 2014.  They had one daughter, Lisa Ann, who was the light of Marcille’s life. They resided in Napoleon before moving to Bismarck in 1971.

Marcille worked in many office positions, including Napoleon High School and the admissions office at Bismarck Junior College. Gerry and Marcille spent many years working side by side with ventures in a custom combining business that took them to Texas, owning Rohrich’s Chevy and Olds in Elgin, and eventually returning to Bismarck to open Rohrich’s Used Cars in Bismarck until their retirement.

Marcille was such a kind and genuine person who loved to laugh and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to play Bingo, tabs and slot machines and she was one lucky lady! She and Gerry both enjoyed car racing, collecting antiques, attending auction sales, and trips to casinos.   Family history was a passion for Marcille as well as all things family. She kept newspaper articles of any family member and never missed sending a card and many times a special photo or hand-made gift for birthdays and anniversaries. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, and decorating for the seasons. She will be greatly missed by many.

Grateful to have shared Marcille’s life are her daughter, Lisa, and special person Jesse Baker; sisters, Viola (Leo) Wolf and Charlene Schuchard; brother, Ray (Barb) Werre; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Schnabel, Marlene (Rod) McAllister, Dean (Sharon) Rohrich, George (Val) Rohrich, and Linda (Jim Stevenson.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and cousins who adored her.

Marcille was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents, Art and Emma Werre; sister, Verdella Schnabel; infant brother, Melvin; brother-in-law, Lyle Schuchard; nephew, Barry Schuchard; mother and father in-law, George and Marie Rohrich; and nephew Williams McAllister.
