Lyle D. Andrews, 88, Bismarck, passed away November 21, 2016 at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, ND.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Charity Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND with Rev. Scott Bauman and Rev. Robert Nordvall officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Parkway Funeral Home, Bismarck, with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Lyle was born on April 8, 1928, to Glenwood and Evelyn (Fredrickson) Andrews in Little Falls, MN. He moved to Cambridge, MN then Crookston, MN where he met Lorene Kuball and they were married on August 4, 1949 in Cavalier, ND. Lorene died in February of 2015. Lyle and family owned and operated a family restaurant in Crookston for 6 years before he worked in the retail industry. He volunteered for the Crookston Fire Department while living in Crookston. He was a salesperson for JCPenney's for 10 years, manager and district manager for Tempo/Gambles Hardware for 20 years and a salesperson for LDDS World Com for 8 years, retiring in 1993.
Lyle was an outgoing and friendly person and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed woodworking, playing golf and was active in the Bismarck Elks Club, The Masonic Lodge, Sertoma Club and he was a member of the Northern Lights Chorus. Above all, his family was central in his life and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Lyle will be deeply missed by his daughter, Patricia Lu (Ken) Jorgensen, Newport, NH; son, James (Georgeann), Bismarck, ND, son-in-law, Gary Gilbert, Boise, ID; 7 grandchildren, Dawn Ewing, Tracey Gilbert, Erik Jorgensen, Andrea Iaquinto, Breanna Brothers, Jared Andrews and Spencer Andrews; 8 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Capri, Grant, Ryan, Piper, Nash, Dylan, and Rowan and brother, Lloyd (Marilyn) Alexandria, MN.
Lyle will be greeted warmly in Heaven by his parents; his wife, Lorene and his daughter, Sharen.
