Lorraine Glaser, 85, of Mandan, passed away February 9, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Lorraine O. (Gratz) Glaser was born on December 11, 1939, to Adam and Minnie (Kautzman) Gratz in Mandan. She was educated in Mandan and graduated from Mandan High School in 1958. After graduating Lorraine went to work at the Mandan Creamery where she met her future husband, Dennis. Dennis and Lorraine were married on April 29, 1961. They grew their family by adding three sons, Terry, Jeff, and Tim. After working at the creamery for five years, Lorraine went on to work as a Tupperware packer, a housekeeper for Heartview and then a housekeeper for St. Alexius Medical Center.
Lorraine loved cooking family meals on Sundays and her grandchildren loved it just as much, especially her homemade buns and chicken pot pies. She always made sure that Matt had something to take home with him to eat later and she continued cooking up until she physically couldn’t anymore. Lorraine enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, Sudoku, jigsaw puzzles, and making sure her checkbook was balanced to the penny! She also enjoyed her trips to Branson at Christmas and going Christmas shopping with her granddaughters, Terra and Lauren, with their annual stop at Starbucks! Lorraine also enjoyed her occasional trips to the casino. Lorraine’s faith was very important to her and she rarely missed going to church and if she couldn’t get there, she made sure to watch the livestream.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by her children, Terry of Mandan, Jeff (Michelle) of Lincoln, and Tim (Ronda) of Mandan; three grandchildren, Mathew Glaser, Lauren (Michael) Schmidt, and Terra Solberg; a great-grandson, Aurthur Dennis Schmidt; one sister, Peggy (Russ); sister-in-law, Donna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; siblings, Harry, Joe (Angie), and Eugene, and two infant siblings.
