Linda L. Mund, 74, Mandan, passed away on November 15, 2014 at Vibra Hospital in Mandan after a courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 21, 2014 at First Lutheran Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Christine Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan with a prayer service at 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Linda was born on December 25, 1939 to John and Elizabeth (Wolf) Schlepp in Java, SD. Her family moved to Aberdeen, SD when she was 9. Linda completed high school and attended Northern State College in Aberdeen; she later earned a Business Degree from Interstate Business College in Bismarck, ND.
Linda married Clifford C. Mund on December 30, 1962; they lived in Aberdeen until 1977 when they moved to Mandan. Throughout her life, Linda was a self-employed business woman, volunteer, and an avid collector of antiques and glassware. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, puzzles, traveling, RV camping, cooking, baking specialty cakes and catering. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and later in life volunteered at Seeds of Hope, Welcome House and Head Start. Linda had a wonderful sense of humor, a contagious laugh, and enjoyed a good joke. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and often stated that her greatest accomplishment was her three sons and her granddaughter.
Linda will be deeply missed by her devoted family; husband of almost 52 years, Cliff, Mandan, ND; sons, Douglas (DeLora) Mund, Bismarck, ND and Troy Mund, Minneapolis, MN; granddaughter, Cara Mund; sisters, Geneva Huber, Roseville, CA, Darnella Ylitalo, Aberdeen, SD and Virginia Schmeling, Overland Park, KS; brother, Harold (Marge) Schlepp, Waseca, MN; sisters-in-law, Sharon Schlepp, Naomi Hildreth and Delores Schlepp along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Todd Mund in 2007; brothers, Orville (Doreen) Schlepp, Neal Schlepp, Fritz Schlepp and Rudy Schlepp; brothers-in-law, Don Huber and Archie Ylitalo.
