LeRoy Pius Koch, 62, of Mandan, passed away July 18, 2024, at his home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with Deacon Bob Wingenbach officiating. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Moose Ritual at 6:30 PM followed by a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
LeRoy was born February 17, 1962, in Bismarck, ND, the 4th of 13 children to Louie Jr. and Magdalene (Neibauer) Koch. He was raised on the farm in Shields, ND, and graduated from St. Gertrudes High School, Raleigh, ND.
In 2017, LeRoy met Tammy Kluksdahl and they dated for 4 years and were married on June 1, 2021, at the Morton County Courthouse in Mandan, ND. She was his third wife.
LeRoy worked a variety of jobs throughout his life. He sandblasted and painted for Oxentanko, worked for Northern Plains Plumbing and Heating, and on oil rigs in Williston. LeRoy also delivered auto parts for Hedahls, Auto-Value, and NAPA. This past year LeRoy retired. He found a love for gardening, cooking, and watching his friends play horseshoes. Just before he passed, LeRoy was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of camping, fishing, and enjoying life. LeRoy was a proud member of the Mandan Moose Lodge #425.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Tammy; mother, Magdalene; son, James (Shantel); two daughters, Jessica Koch (Cody Kautzman) and Justeen Koch; two step-sons, Rodney Roth (Alexandra Stephens) and Julius Kluksdahl; four step-daughters, Tiffany Kunrath (Travis), Jayden Erdmann (Nathan), Miranda Mattheis (Couy Seelye), and Angel Atwood (Ryan); five brothers, Adam, Louie (Deb), Robert (Mary Kregar), Eugene (Deb), and Joseph (Bobbi); four sisters, Julianna Lovgren, Rosalie Stevens (Scott), Yvonne Klein (Keith Leintz), and Sylvia Lesman (Kasey); one sister-in-law, Nichole; seven grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; and their dog and his close companion, Trixie.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; two brothers, David and Michael; one sister, Karen; one sister-in-law, Marilyn; and niece, Becky.
