Leonard was born on March 4, 1940 to Ted and Rose (Fleck) Beckler in Fallon, ND. He worked on the farm and later joined the US National Guard. He married Veronica Magilke on May 29, 1962.
Leonard was a construction worker by trade and had a very strong work ethic. He was hardworking and dependable but that didn’t mean he didn’t enjoy life. He was an artistic person and could paint beautiful pictures. Leonard and Veronica loved to dance especially waltzes and polkas but he could rock with the best of them, he even dressed up like Elvis. He also liked to pitch horseshoes, play pinochle and throw dice. He would enjoy watching old westerns on television. Family was central in Leonard’s life especially his grandchildren who he loved dearly but Veronica was the love of his life and they did everything together. He would often joke about driving Veronica somewhere that he was “Driving Miss Daisy”.
Leonard will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 53 years, Veronica, Bismarck; daughters, Lea (Special Friend, Chris Kocourek) Beckler, Mandan, ND and Laurie (Greg) Grensteiner, Roseau, MN; sons, Robert Beckler, Dillworth, MN and Leonard, Jr.
(Kathryn) Beckler, Bismarck, ND; 11 grandchildren, Adam, Paige, Alex, Mike, Ty, Greg, Graydon, Grant, Garrett, Waylon and William; brothers, Ted (Linda) Beckler, Mandan, ND and Tony (Jeanie) Beckler, Mandan, ND.
