Leo Janzer, 94, of Mandan, ND passed away April 29, 2023 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, May 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mandan with Father Joshua Waltz as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mandan Union Cemetery.
Leo was born August 19, 1928 in the Ukraine to Adam & Elizabeth Janzer. He came to the United States from Germany in 1951 with $3 in his pocket. He began his employment with the Mandan Creamery & Produce Company. Leo married Lillian Ferderer in Center, ND in 1955. Together they raised four sons while living in Mandan. Leo worked at Cloverdale Foods for over 40 years retiring at the age of 65. He is remembered as a quiet man, who enjoyed playing pinochle, gardening, and watching All-Star Wrestling.
Leo is survived by his loving wife, Lilllian; four sons, Tim Janzer of Bismarck, Tom (Marlene) Janzer of Mandan, Terry Janzer of Bismarck, & Troy (Susan) Janzer of Colorado Springs, CO; 6 grandchildren, Cinnamon, Mandi, Justin, Sarah, Michael, and Jessica; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Gregory Janzer of Germany; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A luncheon will follow the services on Tuesday at the Mandan Moose.
