Leo was born on August 6, 1940 to Frank and Elizabeth (Leingang) Dillman Sr. in Bismarck, ND. He was raised and educated in the Selfridge area. He married Pauline Hersch on March 31, 1959 in Selfridge. The farm and ranch life of the original homestead was what Leo knew and enjoyed for 26 years. He loved to travel and visit relatives far and near. He really enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds. There was no job too big or too small for him, he was mechanically inclined and a welder so he could repair anything. He also designed and created several different artistic iron-work pieces. He liked things to be precise and took great pride in everything he did. Leo also loved to fish, play pinochle, and play checkers. Leo belonged to the Mobridge Moose and Eagles Clubs and the Selfridge Knights of Columbus.
His family was his pride and joy and he loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tease and spoil all of the kids, which they enjoyed.
Leo will be deeply missed by his loving wife Pauline; daughters, Gloria (Jim) Kraft, Selfridge and Linda (Casey) Heidt, Dickinson; sons, David and Donald (Marcy) both of Bismarck, Leo (Nina) Jr., Mobridge, SD and Dennis (Regan), Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren, Blaine Dillman, Heather (Brady) Mueller, and Hannah Dillman, Jessica (Brent) Kastner and Jennifer (Mike) Volk, Brandy and Derek Dillman, Casinda (Mike) Langseth and Lance Heidt, Ashley (Mike) Varilek and Kyle Dillman, Brittany Dillman and Bradley Dillman; step-grandchildren, Haven Warren and Devynne Ames; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Maudie Dillman, Jamestown, Shirley Dillman, McIntosh, SD and Mary Dillman, Walker, SD.
