Kimberly M. Hatzenbuhler, 51, Mandan, died November 2, 2015 at CHI St. Alexius Health in Bismarck surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 6, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Kimberly was born on December 12, 1963 to Leslie and Carol (Hatzenbuehler) Metzger in Fargo, ND. She was raised and educated in the Mandan area and graduated from Mandan High School in 1982. She married Jeffrey Hatzenbuhler on June 6, 1984 in Mandan, ND. Kim was a Customer Service Rep for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Dakota and spent her 25 year career working in the Bismarck/Mandan area.
Kim was a loving and kindhearted person, who loved her family and friends beyond measure. She was active in her community and enjoyed many activities. She was an avid reader, loved doing cross stitch blankets, she grew beautiful flowers and baked delicious goodies. She enjoyed taking long walks with her dog, Rylee and her good friend Laurie. Kim was also musically talented and played piano and clarinet which she played in the marching band while in high school. She looked forward to her weekly volleyball games with the girls and always attended her children’s sporting events. Kim was also active in the PTA when her kids were in school. Above all Kim’s family was the center of her life with the holidays being a special time for her.
Kimberly will be deeply missed by her husband of 31 years, Jeff, Mandan, ND; sons, Darrick, Denver, CO, Dylan and Devin both of Mandan, ND; father, Leslie Metzger, Mandan, ND; sisters, Renee (Matt) Meidinger and Denise Metzger both of Mandan, ND; brother, Leslie D. Metzger, Mandan, ND; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Richard) Neibauer, Stanton, ND, Linda (Tom) Fried, Mandan, ND, Julie (Jim) Nelson, Bismarck, ND and Fran (Perry) Freidig, Mandan, ND; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Pam) Hatzenbuhler, Mandan, ND, Nick (Elaine) Hatzenbuhler, Mandan, ND, Richard (Rhonda) Hatzenbuhler, Rapid City, SD, Joe (Mary) Hatzenbuhler, Mandan, ND and Craig Hatzenbuhler, Bismarck, ND; 27 nieces and nephews, 39 great-nieces and nephews with 2 more on the way.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Metzger; mother and father-in-law, Joe (Clara) Hatzenbuhler; 2 nephews and 1 great-niece.
