Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Kenny's favorite color was green, the same as many of the fields he planted. Kenneth, known to his family and friends as Kenny, was born in Bismarck, North Dakota to Jonathan and Verna (Murray) Dockter. He was raised and educated in McClusky. He started farming while he was still in high school and once he graduated, he worked for different farms until he settled on his own farm in 1980 by Dawson ND. This took him and his family to different locations in North Dakota and at one point returned to his home town of McClusky where he worked on the Canal for a short time. In 1980 he was able to realize his dream and bought the dairy farm in Dawson. For many years Kenny and his family milked cows and planted and harvested fields, until he decided that he enjoyed his days spent on his tractor working his fields and sold the dairy portion of the farm. He retired from the daily work of farming in 2022.
Kenny married Kathy Mueller on August 18, 1989 in Dawson where the couple made their home and have resided since.
Kenny loved spending time around Lake Five and shared his enjoyment of the area by developing lots for other families to build lake cabins on.
He enjoyed ice fishing, driving around, looking at crops and visiting with friends and neighbors he would come across. Kenny always looked forward to the 4th of July and watching fireworks. He also enjoyed gardening and stories were told of the beautiful vegetables that came from his garden. He also enjoyed cooking and canning of his produce.
He will be remembered most by his love of farming, tooling around the countryside on his gator and sense of humor.
Kenny is survived by his wife Kathy; children: Sabrina Dockter, Darcy (Darci) Dockter, Thane (Nikki) Dockter, Desirae Dockter and Missy (Bill) Gerving; grandchildren: Nile-J'len, Jordan-Rain, Emmy, Maggie, Kallon, Taylor and Tiera; great-grandchildren: Wesley, Novalynn, Ellie and Sabel; siblings: Crystal (Danny) Haugen, Tana (Bob) Houser and Tim Dockter. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Renee.
