Katherine Braun

Katherine Sue Braun, 74, of Mandan, passed away June 9, 2019 in a Mandan Care Center.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND with Rev. Bob Grey Eagle officiating. Burial of the urn will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 3 PM.

The family will be receiving friends and family one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Kathy was born on December 6, 1944 to Anders and Virginia (Quale) Larson in Grand Forks, ND.  She was raised and educated in Hallock, MN.

She married Lee Nelson, to this union 3 daughters were born, Debbie, Karla, and Cindy.

Later, she married Bill Braun and she gained another daughter, Becky, and two sons, David and Rich.

Kathy worked at Lutheran Social Services and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Fargo, then at NISC in Mandan until her retirement.

Kathy will be deeply missed by her children, Karla (Tom) Tysver, Cindy Nelson, Becky (Kent) Rhodes, David (Jennifer) Braun, Rich (Steve Waller) Braun; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Gin (Byron) Danielson and Angie (Rick) Dickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill Braun; 1 sister, Marylin Larson; 1 daughter, Debbie Bitz. to sign the guestbook and share memories with her family.
