Judith K. Blank, 75, Mandan, died September 27, 2015 at Sanford on Sunset Care Center in Mandan.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, ND with Rev. Ron Hildahl as presider. Inurnment will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 hours before the service.
Judy was born on November 7, 1939 to Robert H. and Maxine (Patterson) Rowley in LaMoure, ND. She married Ronald Blank on February 21, 1958 in Mandan, Ron passed away on August 26, 2011. Judy worked for Great Plains Research in their clerical department until her retirement in 2009.
Judy was a fun loving and caring person who had a fondness for all children and especially her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed baking her famous chocolate chip cookies for her family and special friends. She was a creative person who always was watching and learning new things. She took classes in belly dancing and made her own costumes and enjoyed putting on special performances. Judy was an avid reader and would do many crossword puzzles and word games. She had a great memory, a “walking dictionary”. Judy also liked making occasional trips to the casino, gardening, taking in her grandchildren’s school events and above all holidays with her family.
Judy will be deeply missed by her daughters, Stacy Freestad, Gillette, Wy, Vicki (Joseph) Sheldon, Bismarck, ND, Lora Blum, Mandan, ND and Kathy (Tom) Dutton, Menoken, ND; 12 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Wuertz, Lewistown, Mt, Anita Frohlich, Mandan, ND, Linda (Larry) Hippen, Mandan, ND and Robin Staples, Mandan, ND; brother, Brian Rowley, Mandan, ND and numerous nieces nephews and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron; her son Ronald, Jr; sons-in-law, Cliff Freestad and Dennis Blum; brothers-in-law, Lynn Wuertz and Gerald Frohlich.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
