John Kraft, Jr., 67, Mandan, died October 12, 2014 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Marvin Klemmer as celebrant. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Mandan VFW Post #707 and American Legion Post #40.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
John was born on April 28, 1947 to John J. and Maggie (Mossett) Kraft in Flasher, North Dakota. He was a heavy equipment operator by trade and worked in the construction industry. He was a kind and generous man with a good sense of humor. Family was central in his life and he loved his grandchildren dearly. John enjoyed fishing on the river and at Crown Butte.
John will be deeply missed by his children; Amy (Mike) Vad, Forest Lake, MN, Jessica Kraft, Bismarck, ND, Karla (Jeff Novotny) Kraft, Fargo, ND, Troy (Cassie) Kraft, Menoken, ND and Joshua (Morgan) Kraft, Mandan, ND; his mother, Maggie Kraft, Mandan; 13 grandchildren and his siblings and their families.
John was preceded in death by his father and 4 brothers, 2 sisters and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
