Joell M Snider, 78, Mandan, passed away November 5, 2016 at Sanford Health in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Msgr. Chad Gion as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Joell Maureen Snider, 78, was born in Bowdle, South Dakota on June 8, 1938. She was raised in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She left Aberdeen after High School graduation and moved sight unseen to Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in Fort Yates, ND and worked in the hospital as a laboratory technician. While there she met Pete Snider, married and moved to Seattle Ft. Lawton Army base. After two years they returned to Mandan, North Dakota where they lived and raised four children. Joell worked her entire life in the medical profession helping others as an assistant for Dr. H.A. Wheeler, medical records in Mandan Hospital, and as a switch board operator at Sanford Hospital.
She loved the outdoors, sitting on her porch and working in her yard. She was an active member of Spirit of Life Church in Mandan and was a light and joy to all who knew her.
Joell dedicated her life to God and her four girls, Kathy Snider, Santiago Ixcan, Guatemala, Lisa Dahring (Erland) Frazee, MN, Ruth Snider, Mandan, ND and Shelley (Klein) Buffington, (Darren) Bismarck, ND. She adored her seven grandchildren who were the love of her life.... Kayla Bernfeld (Martin), Los Angeles, CA, Michael Emter, Los Angeles, CA, Jeremy Sheldon, Minneapolis, MN, Aaron Butler, Fargo, ND, Alexis Klein, Bismarck, ND, Taylor Klein, Bismarck, ND and last but not least Will Klein, Bismarck, ND.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Viola Hanlon and father, Christ Weiszhaar; one sister, Luci Weiszhaar, and two brothers, Darrel Weiszhaar and Lyle Weiszhaar.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
