Joann was born February 17, 1955 to Theadore Anderson and Ida Jans in Turtlelake, ND.
Joann was an amazing cook and a very caring person. Her cooking was loved and cherished by all her family. She always cooked with love for those she cared for. Her famous Strudels and Cucumber Salad will deeply be missed. Joann enjoyed working for many years as a cook at Elks, in Bismarck. She was a dedicated worker and enjoyed working hard. Joann loved her brother deeply, Roy Anderson. The bond between them both remained and will forever remain unbreakable. There was nobody she’d rather have a drink and play her slots with. Roy Anderson was always a great support for Joann, no matter what she needed big or small, Roy was always there to help her. Joann was married for many years to Robert Mayer, Robert made her laugh like no other. She had so much love for him in her heart. Even though they divorced, they reconnected later throughout life and remained good friends. They always had each other's back though everything life had to offer. Joann looked forward to her casual coffee mornings with Robert and Daniel Mayer. Daniel Mayer was a close friend to Joann. They shared many years of sentimental friendship. Joann was such a caring person and a person who acted so incredibly tough. Even though she wasn’t physically motivated, she still managed to put a brave face on and help her dear friend, Daniel, with his medical needs. No matter what, she would help anyone who needed her with a grin on her face. Her two best friends shared coffee with her on a bad or good day. Joann was a proud grandmother; she loved all her grandchildren with her whole heart. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for them. Joann was such a caring and helpful woman; she always gave everything to everyone even when she had nothing left to give. Joann enjoyed music and loved to sing karaoke in her good days. There wasn’t a time that she wasn’t dancing to old country while tapping her leg. She will be remembered as a wild and caring spirit. She will forever be dancing with all her angels.
Joann will be deeply missed by her children, Joanna and Bob Zacher, Mandan, ND, Suzanne and William Jackson, Mandan, ND, Kirstie and Tyler Biegler, Bismarck, ND, Nikki Elizzarrey, Bismarck, ND, Steven Enzi, Grand Forks, ND, Roxanne and Randy Scott, Batesville, Arkansas, John and Kimberly Pavlicek, Cannon City, CO, and Robert Luptak, Billings, MT. Even when life had challenged her motherhood, she loved every single one of her kids. She was a proud mother and will always be. She enjoyed motherhood so much, that she took the responsibilities of raising four of her grandchildren, Robynn Jo Elizarrey, Serenity Marie Elizarrey, Khlole Lynn Elizzarey, and James Anthony Elizzarey JR. She provided them with a home full of love, care, and prayers. Her first three grandchildren will deeply miss their grandmother and will always cherish the time spent with her, Stacey Ray Hipsak, Samantha Storm Hipsak, and Shelby Lynn Bethke.
