James "Jim" Green

James “Jim” Green, 76, of Mandan, passed away August 2, 2019 in Bozeman, MT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Fred Harvey as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 11, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Jim was born on July 19, 1943 to Clifford and Cecilia (Schmidt) Green in Mandan, ND where he was raised and educated, graduating in 1961 from Mandan High School.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 and was honorably discharged in 1968.  Then he enrolled in Wahpeton School of Science where he earned an associate degree in Electric Systems, graduating in 1970. He worked for MDU for 31 years as an Electric dispatcher.

Jim especially loved spending time with family.  For many years he enjoyed summers at the lake cabin in Minnesota, and winters in Arizona playing trombone in 4 different bands.  Jim was an avid bowler for many years, and he had a special love for music.  He truly enjoyed his 18 wonderful years of retirement.

Jim will be deeply missed by his sister, Glenna and Orley Berdahl of Mandan, ND; his brother, Bob and Susan Cordes-Green of Fargo, ND; nieces and nephews, Kelly and Mike Berdahl, Rob and Daniel Green, Carrie Spellerberg, Jen Berdahl Chiotti, and Natalie Berdahl; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nephews, and great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
