Isabel Franck, 93, Bismarck, formerly of Mandan died September 25, 2014 at Baptist Health Care Systems in Bismarck.
Isabel Eckroth was born on September 27, 1920 to Peter and Katherine (Pfaff) Eckroth in Fallon, ND. She was raised and educated in the Fallon area. She married Leo Franck on October 26, 1939 in Flasher, ND.
Isabel was a warm and caring woman who was a good home maker and mother. She was a talented seamstress and sewed all her children’s clothes. She enjoyed embroidering and games especially playing rummy and rolling dice, word search and crossword puzzles. Isabel was a wonderful cook and baker she made delicious German dishes and her homemade bread and caramel rolls were a favorite of her families. She also liked to can fruits and vegetables and did a lot of canning while her children were growing up. After Leo passed away in 1979 she did a lot of traveling to see her children and brothers and sisters.
Isabel will be deeply missed by her daughters, Shirley (Ed) Fitterer, Mandan, ND, Judy Shimek, Mandan, ND, Darlene (Joe) Rippel, Bismarck, ND, Sherry (Marc) Beaudry, Powell, WY and Bernadine (Bruce) Stutzke, Hope ID; her sons, Robert (Karen), Sandpoint, ID, James, Bismarck, ND, Norman (Sharon) Belfair, WA, Gary (Mary) Lisbon, IA and Kevin (Deb) Hope, ID; 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Joe (Kathryn) Eckroth, Mandan, ND and Tom (Sharon) Eckroth, KS.
Isabel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her infant daughter, Beverly Jean; sisters, Ida Leingang, Barbara Bohl, Minnie Schlinger and Rose Eckroth; brother, George and 2 brothers that died in infancy.
