Helen Muth

Helen Muth, 100, died peacefully on October 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Keith Streifel as celebrant. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Women of the Moose Ritual at 6:45 PM and Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 PM. 

Helen was born on April 26, 1924, to John and Anna (Haider) Bullinger in Mandan. She resided and attended school in St. Anthony. Helen married Francis Muth on June 24, 1947, in St. Anthony. She spent many hours baking and cooking for her family. Helen enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and many house plants. She was a lifetime member of the Mandan Moose Lodge and held several positions throughout her membership.

Together with her husband of 38 years, they raised 3 sons, Francis Jr. "Sonny" (Paulette), Bismarck, Eugene (Margie), Mandan, Ronald (Pamela), Melbourne, FL; 3 daughters, Mariann (LeRoy) Volk, Mandan, Carol (deceased), Paulette (Kevin) Huddleson, Burnsville, MN; 16 grandchildren, Corey Muth, Malinda Schmidt, Elysa Smith, Angela Stairs, Justin Muth, Eugene Muth Jr, Timothy Muth, Aaron Volk, Orin Volk, Ariel Huddleson, Jared Huddleson, Josiah Huddleson, Elizabeth Baines, Hannah Frechette, Benjamin Huddleson, Ethan Huddleson; 25 great-granchildren.

She is survived by 1 sister, Bernice Schmidt, Keizer, OR; 3 sisters-in-law, Marge Bullinger, Atwater, CA; Dorothy Berreth and Loretta Muth both of Mandan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis; daughter, Carol; 2 great-grandsons, Trey and Charlie; 4 brothers, Ed, Leonard, Wendelin, and Ray; 1 sister, Katie Mindt.
