Helen Leingang, 86, Mandan, passed away February 22, 2017, at Miller Pointe Off Collins in Mandan.
In accordance with her wishes, a private service will be held. Inurnment will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Helen was born on July 18, 1930, to Adam and Agnes (Hoffman) Bender in rural St. Anthony, ND. She was raised and educated in the St. Anthony area along with her four brothers and three sisters. Helen married Martin Leingang on November 25, 1947, in Fort Yates, ND.
Helen will be deeply missed by her daughters, Virginia Leingang-Busby, St. Paul, MN, Brenda Lundy, Mandan, ND, Kathy (Steve) Vogelpohl, Bismarck, ND, and Jackie (Steve) Bernard, Roseberg, OR; brothers, Joe (Theresa) Bender and Frank (Pat) Bender, both from Salem, OR; 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Agnes; husband, Martin, in 1980; daughter Linda (Lin) Nulph in 2007; brothers Fred Bender and Ed Bender; sisters Annie Kuntz, Cecilia Dworshak, and Josephine Nicholas.
