Helen Knoll, 96, of Mandan, passed away January 22, 2021 at Sanford Hospital, Bismarck.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND, with Rev. Fred Harvey presiding. Burial will be at Mandan Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Weigel Funeral Home, Mandan, with a Rosary/ Vigil at 7:00 PM. There will NOT be visitation at the church Wednesday morning. Please follow all mask mandates and social distancing guidelines.
Helen (Charvat) Knoll was born November 23, 1924, to John and Ludmilla (Belohlavek) Charvat. As a young person, she worked for aunts and uncles babysitting, cooking, and learning her amazing baking skills; kolaches, pies, breads, strudel and kuchens.
Helen married her dancing partner, Mike H. Knoll, on October 1, 1946. Helen loved quilting, gardening, fishing, and cooking large meals for her family. She was very active in the Catholic Daughters and Christ the King Church. People would come for her amazing sewing skills, whether it be altering or sewing complete wedding party dresses.
Helen will be missed by her daughter, Claudia (Rick) Aberle; her sons, James (Sue) and Jeffrey Knoll; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Marie Bauer.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Mike; her parents; and five siblings.
