Helen J Barth, 91, Mandan, died October 11, 2014 at Sanford Care Center in Mandan.

Mass and visitation will be held privately for the family.

Helen was born to Jacob and Julia (Paul) Schlosser on May 31st, 1923. As one of 13 siblings she spent the early years of her life helping out on the family farm. She received her education at Harmon School in Morton County.

On April 11th, 1944, Helen married Tony Barth. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Mandan, where they started a family and raised four daughters. While Tony worked, Helen stayed at home to take care of the household. Family was of the utmost importance to Helen. She was tremendously kind and gentle and always put others first.

Helen was a devout Catholic and also very proud of her German heritage. She enjoyed cooking for her family and providing hearty German-inspired meals at holidays and special occasions. In her free time, she loved to tend to her gardens, feed the birds, and spend time relaxing with her cat, Buffy.

Helen will be deeply missed by her daughters, Antoinette (Paul) Christensen, Spearfish, SD, Karen Iverson, Bismarck, Deb (Wade) Isaacson, Mandan, Tammi (Mike) Hundley, Mount Pleasant, WI; grandchildren Jess (Pat) Balvitsch, Eric Iverson; great-grandchildren, Shalique Kary, Carsen Balvitsch; great-great-grandchild Tayvin Boehm; brothers, Raymond (Isabelle) Schlosser, Mandan, Kenneth Schlosser, Woodinville, WA; sister, Clementine Schmidt, Missoula, MT. Helen is also survived by her cherished cat and companion, Buffy.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Tony Barth; her parents; infant twin sister Anna; sisters Eva Neu, Cill Barth, Frances Vogel, Marie Schlosser, Bertha Miller; brothers, John Schlosser, Ralph Schlosser, Jacob Schlosser.
