Harland "Red" Lanz, 83, Mandan died Sunday April 20, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 25, 2O14 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church Mandan, with Msgr. Chad Gion as celebrant.
A Luncheon will be served following the service. Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veteran Cemetery, Mandan, ND on Tuesday, April 29 2014 at 10:00 am.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a parish vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Harland was born on June 25, 1930 to Chryst and Rose (Schantz) Lanz in Glen Ullin, ND. He was raised and educated in Glen Ullin. He was a 2O year veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Air Force, serving with the Navy during the Korean War and with the Air Force as an air traffic controller.
Harland will be deeply missed by his wife Kathleen; step-daughters, Lynn (Kenneth) Weiand, Mandan and Mary (Dion) Palen, Minot; stepsons, John Rennich, Bismarck, David (Mary) Rennich, Bismarck and George (Linda) Rennich, Mandan; sister,
Virginia (Leonard) Scheeler, Glen Ullin; 7 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Harland was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Merle (Jane) Lanz and
Darryl (Rose) Lanz.
