Gary Monzelowsky, 67, Mandan, passed away February 27, 2017 at his residence in Mandan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 2 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Mandan VFW Post #707 and the American Legion Post #40.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
Gary was born on April 14, 1949 to John C. and Betty (Jandl) Monzelowsky in Mandan, ND. He was raised and educated in the Solen area, graduating from Solen High School in 1967. In 1969 he joined the United States Navy and served for 4 years spending part of his service in Vietnam. After he was honorable discharged he returned to North Dakota and worked 35 years with North Dakota State Radio before his retirement. Gary married Vicki Swanson on February 14, 2017 in Mandan, ND.
Gary enjoyed traveling, he loved to drive and see the scenery throughout the country. He visited many parts of the United States including Alaska. He also enjoyed fishing, 4-wheeling and riding his motorcycle, he was very proud of his 1977 Honda Gold Wing.
Gary will be deeply missed by his wife, Vicki, Mandan, ND along with many relatives and close friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty.
