Frank Silbernagel, 84, Mandan, died April 1, 2015 at Sanford Health Continuing Care Center off Collins in Mandan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Christopher Kadramas as celebrant. Burial will be at Selfridge Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 3:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Frank was born on October 14, 1930 to Joseph and Magdalena (Kuntz) Silbernagel in Selfridge, ND. He was a farmer and rancher in the Selfridge area until he retired in 1982 and later moved to Mandan. Farming was his life and he loved all the activities that farming and ranching entailed. Frank was very active in the Selfridge community and in St. Philomena Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing pool and fishing, a highlight for him was when he took a fishing trip to Alaska. Frank was a friendly, helpful person and will be missed by many.
Frank will be deeply missed by his significant friend Gardine Haff, Mandan; sisters, Helen Johner, Beulah, ND, Agnes Volk, Mobridge, SD and Rosemary Schmidt, CA; brothers, Joseph (Pat), Buffalo, WY and Pius (Elaine), Billings, MT along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vangeline Yinamen; brothers, Anton (Annie) and Leo (Angie); brothers-in-law, Pete Johner, George Volk and Thomas Schmidt.
