Frances B. Bullinger, 76, Mandan, died January 30, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Johnson Kuriappilly as celebrant. Burial will be at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 2:00-7:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Frances was born on October 11, 1937 to Nick and Ida (Hoffman) Thomas in Odense, ND. She married Jack Bullinger on November 8, 1955 in St. Anthony. Jack and Frances were well known for their Polka dancing, they won 32 Polka contests throughout Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota and Canada.
Frances worked in the hospitality industry for 35 years working at Holiday Inn and the Sheraton hotels. That hospitality translated to her home and family, she was a wonderful hostess, cook and baker, decorating for the holidays was one of her favorite things. She loved to tend her flower and vegetable gardens and would can the fruits of her labor. Frances had an extensive collection of dolls and angels and enjoyed searching for new ones to add to her collection. Frances enjoyed trips to the casino and playing cards which were relaxing for her. She had a special relationship with her dog Tica; they spent many happy hours together.
Frances will be deeply missed by her son, Allen, Sun Tan Valley, AZ; daughter, Sharlene Mayer, Dickenson; six grandchildren, Daniel LaDoux, Larry Remmick, Rodney Belgum, Crystal Mayer, Lacy Mayer and Zachery Bullinger along with 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Hoffman, Bismarck and Loretta (Don) Hopfauf, Bismarck; brother, Eugene (Monica) Thomas, Mandan and sister-in-law, Linda Betlaf, Mandan along with many nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack on May 6, 2010; daughter, Diane Bolte; brother, Pete Thomas; and brother-in-law Roy Hoffman.
