Eva Leingang, 89, Bismarck, passed away April 4, 2017 at St. Gabriel's Community in Bismarck.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Rev. Shane Campbell as celebrant. Inurnment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 6, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on
Eva was born on May 10, 1927 to Mathias and Magdalene (Martin) Magilke near the Cannonball River in Sioux County. The family moved to Minnesota where Eva was educated to the 11th grade. The family then moved back to the Cannonball area, where Eva taught school. She met Ralph at his going away party before he entered the US Army. She always said it felt like "We were made for each other." Eva and Ralph were truly a team where one's weakness was the others strength, they built many businesses together. Eva also worked at the US Postal Service before retiring after 25 years of service. Eva was well known as a hard worker and frugal woman, whose family was her comfort and joy and she was always there to take care of them.
Eva was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, puzzles and playing cards.
Eva will be deeply missed by her daughter, Wanda (Dan) Schneider, Underwood, ND; sons, Terry (Beverly), Parshall, ND and Raphael (Sherie), Gillette, WY; daughter-in-law, Sarah (Bill Galvin) Leingang, Las Vegas, NV; 12 grandchildren, Gwen, Carla, Heather, Denise, Adrienne, Brandi, Dylan, Grant, Zach, Jessica, Brianna and Miriah along with 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Veronica Beckler, Bismarck, ND and Maggie (Alphonse) Fleck, Mandan, ND; brothers, Tom (Mona) Magilke and Mathias (Caroline) Magilke all of Bismarck, ND; sisters-in-law, Helen Magilke, Josephine Ressler, and Margaret Schaf; brother-in-law, Jim Odell along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph who passed away in 2011; son, Ron; sisters, Tillie Gullickson, Regina Bacon and Frances Grotberg; brothers, George, Martin and John Magilke; brothers-in-law, Leonard Beckler, Nick, Ed, Alex, George, John, Tony and Adam Leingang; sisters-in-law, Anna Schwengler, Clara Eisenbeis, Bertha Magilke, Appolonia Kary and Lula Odell.
