Edna Morrell

Edna Morrell, 92, Mandan, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home under hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Weigel Funeral Home in Mandan with Deacon Randy Frohlich presiding. Burial will follow at Mandan Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday.

Edna was born October 15, 1930, to John and Christine (Hausauer) Boehm in McClusky, ND. In 1948, she married John Morrell at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Mandan. Together they raised their family of four children. Edna began work at the Seven Seas in Mandan the day they opened in 1971, and continued to work their until she retired in 2004.

Her most precious time spent, and memories came with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had such a special connection with them. She was an avid seamstress as she loved to sew, crochet and embroider. Edna also enjoyed her word searches and baking for family and friends.

Edna is survived by her children; Robert (Linda) Morrell, Mandan, Dennis (Dominga) Morrell, Las Vegas, NV and Diane (Wayne) Onger, Bismarck along with a son-in-law, Kent Keller, Mandan. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren along with her siblings, Sam and Elaine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John in 2004, daughter Karen Keller and siblings Kate, Mary and John.
